Swiss court lifts arrest from Gazprom stakes in pipeline operators

MOSCOW, Jan 18 (PRIME) -- Switzerland’s court of the Canton of Zug has lifted arrest of Gazprom’s shares in Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2, operators of gas pipeline projects, Gazprom said in a statement late on Thursday.

Gazprom said that it will continue to protect its rights in accordance with legislation.

The Swiss court arrested the assets on May 29, 2018 under proceedings to reclaim U.S. $2.56 billion from Gazprom by Ukrainian energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy under a ruling of the Stockholm arbitration court.

In fact, the arrest covered the claiming rights but did not cover Gazprom’s stakes in the assets.
